![]() ![]() Reboot and your graphics drivers will magically spring to life. ![]() and changing the number of processors to 1. You can do this by going to msconfig, clicking the Boot tab, clicking Advanced options. There is a workaround that will kind of work, but as you may have guessed you'll have to disable one of your CPU's cores. nVidia pulled this stunt with quite a few things at the time including their GeForce 5 cards, saying they were supporting Vista, even having beta drivers and then they just Sorted it, nVidia didn't bother, despite nForce 3 being sold as Vista compatible. SiS and a few others issued driver updates for their motherboard chipsets which On Windows Vista and up, such a workaround won't work. I can't recall the exact specifics but with an nForce 3 and similar chipsets of the day from SiS and a few others when they had a dual-core CPU in them, they'd change the AGP port to useĪ PCI driver or something of that nature to enable multi-core support (as it was hacked on late in their development). It comes from a compatibility issue between the nForce 3 and AGP. I ran into the issue abour three years ago on one of my machines.
